“We are committed to carbon neutrality because we are firmly convinced that it is the right thing to do. It is good for us, good for our associates and good for our customers.”
President, Eden Springs Europe
Leading the Market with Action Climate
Pure water, pure air.
Our European Route Based Services division, Eden Springs, is Europe’s largest certified CarbonNeutral® water and coffee services company.
CarbonNeutral® certification allows us to:
A longer bottle life means less plastic waste.
Our three-gallon (11.3 liter) and five-gallon (18.9 liter) bottles are reused up to 50 times. At the end of their usable life, the bottles are typically recycled and used to make new products. One refillable five-gallon bottle of our water spares around 1,000 1L plastic water bottles.
Over the last 10 years, our North American Route Based Services division, DS Services, has reduced the amount of plastic in U.S. and Canada-branded 0.5-liter bottles by more than 50% and the caps by 25%.
We innovate to meet customer needs, such as when we introduced in the United States a new lightweight 1-gallon water bottle that uses less plastic.
We also offer bio-degradable and recyclable cup options to all customers to reduce the use of plastic cups.
HIGHLIGHTS FROM OUR AIMIA
FOODS DIVISION IN THE U.K.
In alignment with Primo’s commitment to sustainability, our Aimia Foods division in the U.K. has made meaningful progress in reducing the amount of packaging in its operations and increasing the use of recycled materials to mitigate our carbon footprint. Some of these initiatives are:
In 2008, Aimia Foods was among the first companies in the U.K. to introduce lightweight pouches as an alternative to composites (tins) and jars.
Incorporating more recycled materials in packaging
Reduction in the use of plastics and increasing the recyclability of packaging
Most (estimated 80% by weight) of our packaging is already fully recyclable
We are proud of our accomplishments on mitigating the impact of packaging and are always working on innovative sustainable solutions to further reduce our carbon footprint. We have ambitious goals to increase the amount of recycled materials we use in our operations and to develop new materials that will increase the amount of 100% recyclable packaging.
